When this Hospital opened in June 2010, it was the city's first new acute hospital for 70 years. The site of the new main hospital building is also home to the original Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with services spread across the whole site.
The hospital, which is in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, brings together services previously provided at the older hospital and at the nearby Selly Oak Hospital.
As a result of its clinical expertise in treating trauma patients and military casualties, QEHB has been designated both a Level 1 Trauma Centre and host of the UK’s only £20m National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (SRMRC).
First healthcare project to use MRL lifts throughout.
