Simon Russett

Simon Russett is a European and Chartered Engineer with over 40 years of experience in the Vertical Transportation industry, specialising as a technical expert in lifts and escalators. Beginning his career in 1986, Simon has built extensive international expertise across VT design, engineering, and consultancy. He holds a Master of Science in Lift Engineering and is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). 

A Legacy of Lift Excellence and Innovation

Simon is an active member of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and the British Council for Offices (BCO). In 2025, he was elected to the BCO Technical Affairs Committee, representing best practice within the lift industry. Following a technical apprenticeship with an international lift manufacturer in the late 1980s, Simon has worked as a Consulting Engineer since 1991. He founded:

  • Hoare Lea VT Group (2002)
  • Levare Consulting Ltd VT Group (2025), alongside Ryan Sharland
